The final stop was at the Nebraska State Capitol. Although the legislature was not in session, fourth grade still learned about Nebraska's unique unicameral system. It was fun to recognize all the symbolism in the structure and artwork throughout the building that represents the history of Nebraska the fourth graders have been learning about. Thank you to the parents who joined us on the trip!

Next, the fourth graders toured Memorial Stadium which we hadn't been able to do for so long. What a special treat! Part of the tour included the new Osborne Legacy Complex for all UNL athletes. One of the members of the women's rifle team spoke to our group about her experiences too. Running on that field is by far the best though!

Fourth grade had a great time on their field trip to Lincoln yesterday! Their first stop was Morrill Hall where they learned more about fossils of Nebraska. They even enjoyed a special presentation on fossils found right in our area. (Thanks Tony and the Petersen family). Did you know Morrill Hall only has two dinosaur bones from Nebraska? One of them was found in Decatur!
