2014 LDNE HONOR BAND FESTIVAL

Third Times A Charm

Lyons-Decatur Honor band Festival

The Lyons-Decatur music department was proud to hold the 3rd annual Lyons-Decatur honor band Festival on Saturday, March 15th. There was thirteen schools attended. The schools were Archbishop Bergan, Arlington, Clarkson, Emerson-Hubbard, homer, Howells-Dodge, Lyons-Decatur, North Bend, Oakland-Craig, Pender,Stanton, Wakefield, and West Monona. The total number of students was 180. Wow, that is a lot! The students worked hard practicing all day and giving a concert at 4:30 pm.

The fifth graders started off the concert with their songs Starburst Fanfare,Linus and Lucy, Heroes and Glory, and 12 The Clock Strikes with their clinician Dr.Randall Neuharth. Up next was the Percussion Ensemble with their songs March of the Eagle, African medley, and Samba Batucada. Their  clinician was Dr. Scott Shinbara. The last group to perform was the sixth grade band with their clinician Chad Dean. The songs they performed were Patriotic Bits and Pieces, 25 or 6 to 4,Salvation Is Created, George of the Jungle, and Frenzy. The concert was amazing. The kids had a great time. The Northeast music department wants to thank the northeast music boosters, volunteers for making the day run smoothly.  Thank you to all the schools that participated.We couldn’t have done it without you.
