Dr. Seuss’s 109th Birthday Celebration at the School
Dr. Seuss’s 109th Birthday Celebration at the School Written by Sophomore Chevy Henneman Do you like green eggs and ham I do not like them, Sam-I-am. I do not like green eggs and ham -Dr. Seuss (Green Eggs and Ham)
On Monday, March 2nd the high school and elementary celebrated the 109th birthday of Theodor Seuss Geisel and Read Across America. Many events were held in celebration. Monday throughout the day the members of the student council read to an elementary class. Each one had to wear the Cat in the Hat costume and read a Dr. Seuss book to their assigned class. The elementary and council members enjoyed the rhymes of the books and especially the costume! Towards the end of the day all of the elementary and high school gathered in the cafeteria. Some staff and student council helped put on the event. Each student was served some delicious cake along with some ice cream. There was also a costume contest for the elementary to see who had the best Dr. Seuss costume on. The Cat in the Hat himself was one of the judges! Everyone enjoyed themselves and we would like to thank all that helped! Also on Monday the cooks served a green egg and ham breakfast casserole. Although Sam in the book may not have liked green eggs and ham I’d like to say most at the school enjoyed the lunch! We would like to thank all that helped with the celebration of Dr. Seuss’s birthday and hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Also we would like to thank the cooks for the green eggs and ham.
