Sioux City Rockestra

Have you ever been to a concert where the theme was "Chicks Who Rock?" Neither had the group that went to the latest Sioux City Rockestra Concert! The Sioux City Rockestra is America's Only Rock-n-Roll Orchestra. It membership includes 40 of the Midwest's finest musicians. Nineteen Lyons-Decatur Northeast students and sponsors went to the performance which was held at the renown Orpheum Theater in Sioux City, Iowa.
Lyons-Decatur Northeast Music Director John Mayo says he likes to take students to the Rockestra because "the Rockestra provides the opportunity for my students to see their instrument in a different light, to see and hear their instrument played in a way that they never dreamed. The Rockestra is a shining example for young musicians of how far practice will get you."
The next Rockestra concert takes place on April 17th at 8:00 p.m. Mr. Mayo will also be taking students to the Sioux City Symphony on April 10th. Any LDNE student (or parents) taking a class with Mr. Mayo is invited to go to either concert.
