Rockin' With the Sioux City Rockestra!

Recently 13 Lyons-Decatur Northeast students and Mr. Mayo went to a concert unlike any other. They attended a Sioux City Rockestra concert. What is a Rockestra? A Rockestra is a group that combines a rock band and singers with an orchestra. The Sioux City Rockestra is a 40 member ensemble that touts itself as the only professional rockestra in the nation!
The Rockestra concert took place at the Orpheum Theater and had a “A Smorgasbord” theme. The concert featured tunes from bands like Santana, B-52’s, Michael Jackson, Def Leopard, and many others.
The next Rockestra Concert is “Girls Who Rock” and takes place on
Saturday February 6. Any students or parents interested in
