One Step Closer to
1-1 Computing

On Friday, October
24th, the LDNE students had a day off from school but
teachers and administrators took advantage of the day and met for
RTI as the elementary staff and the junior high and high school
teachers received their new Mac laptops. In September the School
Board approved the school to enter into a lease program with the
Apple corporation to begin the implementation of Apple 1 to
1.
Ken Sheppard, an Apple trainer from Colorado,
trained the staff on their new laptops, so that by next fall when
all students 10-12 receive their computers the teachers will have
had several months of training to equip themselves for utilizing
the computers effectively in the classroom.
It was a full
day but everyone was excited about the potential of having
teachers and students equipped with the latest in technology.
The day wasn't without food and thanks so much to the PIE for not
only the food on Thursday night for conferences but on Friday for
lunch.
