After a tough loss at Mead last week, the Cougars once again made many mental mistakes as they fell to Omaha Christian Academy 18-30. Penalties and turnovers were the main story again in the third week of the season.

The first half was close as OCA led 8-6 at the break. At the beginning of the second half, a roughing the kicker penalty on fourth down gave the Eagles a first down. They went on to score a touchdown. An interception thrown by the Cougars in the third quarter was returned for a touchdown. OCA got a total of two scores in the third quarter and mounted a 24-6 lead. The Cougars tried to make a comeback. Ryan Brehmer and Sean Minton both had fourth quarter touchdowns, but it was not enough to overcome OCA. The Cougars outgained the Eagles 334 to 263. Sean Minton and Jacob Pond each had over 100 yards rushing. Minton had 119 yards while Pond had 111 yards. Ryan Brehmer also posted 71 yards. Brehmer completed 3 of 8 passes. Dalton Beck, Anton Hassebrook, and Minton each caught a pass. Clayton Wheaton led the way in tackle points with 18. Minton, Hassebrook, and Brantley Vavra followed him with 17, 14, and 13 points respectively. The Cougars have a bye week before playing Pender for their homecoming game on September 26th.
