There will be a Pep Rally today at 2:30 p.m. to kick off the fall sports season.  Please dismiss the band members at 2:00, directly after their 6th period class.  Also dismiss cheerleaders and pom squad at that time.  We will make an all call for the rest of the students at 2:20.  Students will return to 8th hour class after pep rally.

 

 

 

Good luck to the Varsity football team as they travel to Conestoga High School for a game to start at 7:00 p.m.  The football field for Conestoga High is 3 miles west of Murray on Hwy. 1.  Maps are available at the front office.  The HS football bus leaves at 3:00 p.m.

 

The HS band will be playing at the NE State Fair on Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m.

 

There will not be any school on Monday, September 1st, for observance of the Labor Day Holiday.  School will resume on that Tuesday, September 2nd.

 

Sport button pictures will be taken next week on Tuesday and Wednesday at 7:45 a.m. in the big gym.  This is for JH and HS FB & VB teams, Pom squad and cheerleaders.  Cost is $3.50 each and must be paid at time picture is taken.

 

There will not be any Jr-High Volleyball or football practices today and no shuttle available after school.

The cheerleaders are selling school spirit tattoos - 2 for $.25 cents!.  Wear them on your cheeks for football, volleyball or just for fun!  See Mrs. Mace to purchase-lots of variety!! 

Reminder to students that deadline to submit forms is today, Friday, Aug. 29th.


Check it out.  There is an activities/club bulletin board across from Mr. Krohn’s doorway.  Schedules and announcements for and from the various groups will be posted there.  Daily announcements will be posted on the bulletin board by Mr. Timm’s doorway.

 

Upcoming Events & Updates:

        Drama/Speech: There will be an upcoming meeting.  Stay tuned for information!

        The Fremont Area Medical Center will be providing a Sports Trainer again this year.  Students who need to see the trainer will need to sign up in the Principal’s office. 

 

The FBLA will have their annual picnic on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd at the Lyons City Park at 7:00 p.m.  Free hot dogs and snacks.  Playing sand volleyball unless inclement weather and picnic would then be in the old gym.  Current members need pay $10 chapter dues.

 

The Siouxland Community Blood Bank will be in Lyons on Friday, September 5th from 10:00AM – 3:00PM at the City Auditorium. Be a Hero – Give Blood!  Sign up at the Principal’s office.

 

The FFA will have a meeting on Sept. 15 @ 7:00 p.m.

        UPCOMING College/Career VISITS: NW Missouri – Sept. 11 and Doane College – Oct. 14

        Upward Bound will begin on Tuesday, Sept 2nd.
