Student Council meeting will be today during “B” lunch in the art room. 

 

Today is the last day to change classes.  Please see Mr. Wantz.

 

Wednesday Night PLUS period will begin today -- from 4:00-6:00.

 

Tattoos!: The cheerleaders are selling school spirit tattoos for their fund-raiser.  Wear them on your cheeks for football, volleyball or just for fun!  2 for .25 cents.  See Mrs. Mace to purchase-lots of variety!! 

Drama/Speech: There will be an upcoming meeting.  Stay tuned for information!

Check it out.  There is an activities/club bulletin board across from Mr. Krohn’s doorway.  Schedules and announcements for and from the various groups will be posted there.  Daily announcements will be posted on the bulletin board by Mr. Timm’s doorway.

 

Sports Updates:

 

        The Volleyball scrimmage will be on Thursday, August 28th, starting at 7:00 p.m.

        Pep Rally on Friday at 2:30 p.m. to kick off the fall sports season.  Please dismiss the band members at 2:10.  Also dismiss cheerleaders and pom squad at that time.

        The HS football bus leaves at 3:00 p.m. with the team traveling to Conestoga High for game to start at 7:00 p.m.  The football field at Conestoga is 3 miles west of Murray on Hwy. 1.

        Cheerleaders – reminder to bring your money for your bills.

        The Fremont Area Medical Center will be providing a Sports Trainer again this year.  Students who need to see the trainer will need to sign up in the Principal’s office. 

 

The FBLA will have their annual picnic on Tuesday, Sept. 2nd at the Lyons City Park at 7:00 p.m.  Free hot dogs and snacks.  Playing sand volleyball unless inclement weather and picnic would then be in the old gym.  Current members need pay $10 chapter dues.

 

The Siouxland Community Blood Bank will be in Lyons on Friday, September 5th from 10:00AM – 3:00PM at the City Auditorium. Be a Hero – Give Blood!  Sign up at the Principal’s office.

 

Lost & Found – 2 pair of prescription glasses (look elementary size) have been brought to the office.

 

The HS band will be playing at the NE State Fair on Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m.

 

There will not be any school on Monday, September 1st, for observance of the Labor Day Holiday.  School will resume on that Tuesday, September 2nd.

        UPCOMING College/Career VISITS: NW Missouri – Sept. 11 and Doane College – Oct. 14

        Upward Bound will begin on Tuesday, Sept 2nd.
