Congratulations to these members of the Student Council for 2008-09. First meeting will be on Wednesday during “B” lunch in the art room. Freshman-Alysha, Sophomores-Moroni, Brittani, Starla, Juniors – Morgan, Brianne, Ashley, Dalton, Seniors-Courtney, Jessica, Kim, Holli, and also Anton for FBLA, Eric A. for FFA, ? – Music.
Check it out. There is an activities/club bulletin board across from Mr. Krohn’s doorway. Schedules and announcements for and from the various groups will be posted there. Daily announcements will be posted on the bulletin board by Mr. Timm’s doorway.
Sports Updates:
□ HS Volleyball and Football players and coaches will be treated to hamburgers after practice on Tuesday, hosted by the Sports Boosters.
□ The Volleyball scrimmage will be on Thursday, August 28th, starting at 7:00 p.m.
□ Pep Rally on Friday at 2:30 p.m. to kick off the fall sports season. The HS football bus leaves at 3:00 p.m. with the team traveling to Conestoga High for game to start at 7:00 p.m.
□ Cheerleaders – reminder to bring your money for your bills.
□ The Fremont Area Medical Center will be providing a Sports Trainer again this year. Students who need to see the trainer will need to sign up in the Principal’s office.
Wednesday Night PLUS period will begin this Wednesday from 4:00-6:00.
School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, August 27th, starting at 8:45 a.m.
The Siouxland Community Blood Bank will be in Lyons on Friday, September 5th from 10:00AM – 3:00PM at the City Auditorium. Be a Hero – Give Blood! Sign up at the Principal’s office.
Lost & Found – 2 pair of prescription glasses (look elementary size) have been brought to the office.
Last day to change classes is Wednesday, August 27th. Please see Mr. Wantz.
The HS band will be playing at the NE State Fair on Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m.
There will not be any school on Monday, September 1st, for observance of the Labor Day Holiday. School will resume on that Tuesday, September 2nd.
