Awards and Honors Night

The annual LDNE Awards and Honor Night was held on Tuesday May 6th. Mr. Smith welcomed everyone and congratulated all of our students on their accomplishments for the 2007-8 school year. Thank you to everyone for their contributions to the scholarship program and their participation in the future of our students. Special awards went to students that maintained a 3.5 GPA for the 1st three quarters, those students are: 9th Grade - Leslie Aguilar, Megan Long, and Nicole O'Connor; 10th Grade - Morgan Daberkow, KayCe Hollman, Molly McCulloch, Lacey McCullock, Cassie Ziemann, Eric Anderson, Ashley Bacon, Brianne Bacon, Anton Hassebrook, Tia Messier, Eric Miller, Rachael Nickel, Loren Peterson, Jacob Pond, Emily Ueding, Vanessa Vetick; 11th Grade - Holli Huffman, Kim Hansen, Sariah Harlan, Sean Minton and Jacob Niewohner; 12th Grade - David Alexander, Kristen Cameron, Jessica Hunter, Candice Miller, Mosiah Harlan, Steele Valenzuela, - seniors receiving their 4th letters were: Courtney Beacom, Chance Boden, Brittney Doht, Corey Friedli, Megan Malloy, Karlyn Miller, Jimmy Simpson and Galvin Vetick. Congratulations to these Academic Letter Winners.
National Honor Society induction was held and congratulations to those new members: Kristen Cameron, Sariah Harlan, Jacob Niewohner, Eric Anderson, Ashley Bacon, Brianne Bacon, Morgan Daberkow, Anton Hassebrook, KayCe Hollman, Tia Messier, Eric Miller, Rachael Nickel, Jacob Pond, Emily Ueding and Vanessa Vetick. The Student Council awarded the "You Made a Difference Award" to Mrs. Heideman and Mrs. Bell. Both teachers are retiring at the end of this school year and many thanks for all that they have done for our school. Best wishes to both of them. Jimmy Simpson was awarded the Northeast Cougar Spirit Award for his enthusiasm, positive attitude and overall spirit to Lyons-Decatur Northeast. Congratulations to all of our students - it was a great year and isn't over yet!
