Pi Day

MathOn Friday March 14th, or (3/14) was pi day. Mrs. Heidemen had the Pi challenge, challenging anyone to memorize the most digits of pi.

There would be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, each person would receive a prize. The winner would also make it in the Lyons-Decatur record book of knowing the most digits of pi. The third place winner was Jesse Smith who memorized 33 digits. The Second place winner was Katie Doht who memorized 35 digits. James Kempcke memorized 60! digits of pi, making him the Champion of pi. Also, Mrs. Heidemen made a pi chain for the irrational never ending number pi.
