A Great Success!!!

This Tuesday the Elementary Physical Education Department and Elementary Student Council held their first annual Fitness Fun Night!! It was a great success! It was open to any Preschool- 6th grade student currently enrolled at Lyons-Decatur Northeast. All they needed were their PE shoes and a parent, admission was FREE and they were able to get involved with their parents rather than just being dropped off. Activities included: hockey, ping pong, basketball, volleyball, jump ropes, scooters, and dodge ball!!! It was a great opportunity to exercise, hangout with a parent, show their parents some of the fun things they do in PE, work off the winter blues, burn some calories, work up a sweat, get off the couch, and overall JUST HAVE SOME FUN!!
Other attractions were the chance for a tasty dinner or snacks. The Elementary Student Council had the concession stand open and offered water, Power Ade, Pop, and Taco Bags. Also the Elkhorn Valley Public Health Department and Oakland Mercy Hospital was there and they offered FREE health screenings. Those screenings were cholesterol, blood glucose, and blood pressure screenings, and a health risk assessment.
This was a great night and many are looking forward to next year
or future FUN NIGHTS!!! To view more pictures click on the
