Veterans Day Program
tribute to our veterans

On Monday, November 12th at 2:30 the students, faculty and community honored our veterans in the school gymnasium. Mr. Rose and the JH/HS band entertained with patriotic music, the Color Guard from VFW Post 7998 presented the colors and the 6th grade class led the Pledge of Allegiance.
All of the veterans present introduced themselves and shared their military experience. The featured speaker, Mr. George Rathman Retired Army Master Sgt, was introduced by Mr. Jerry Ludwig. Mr. Rathman shared what it was to be a veteran and how to be respectful of veterans. Winners of the "Voice of Democracy" were announced: 3rd Ashley Bacon, 2nd Jimmy Simpson and 1st place went to Courtney Beacom. Her essay will continue to the district level. "Patriots Pen" winners were: 3rd Rebekah Harlan, 2nd Lindsay Olsen, and 1st place Brenna Wakeley. Mrs. Potadle, 3rd grade teacher, was presented an award for her continued support of our servicemen and women through letters and phone cards.
