Have you ever seen such a BIG pumpkin... Arianne Brokow's "Grandma Hunter" gave the preschool class a fabulous giant pumpkin. They tried to roll it, they read books about giant pumpkins ( the biggest one in history was the size of a small car in 1996), we made predictions and then we FINALLY tried to cut it open.

What could be inside that giant pumpkin??? Cranberries, humans, a family, a screaming pumpkin, Jack and the Bean Stalk, a giant seed, Spider Man, Thomas the Train, a million seeds, a monster put my mom and dad in there, A LOT of goop...were some of the preschooler's answers.

To cut the pumpkin open we needed; one preschool teacher, one cook, and one custodian. The stem was as thick as a preschooler's arm!!!

To top off the fun we compared a medium pumpkin and a very small pumpkin. Guess which one had the most seeds?...and then we had roasted pumpkin seeds!

The custodian (Ken) asked how many pumpkin pies will a giant pumpkin make??? MMmmmm good guestion...Look at the slide show to see how big it was Peter Peter Pumpkin Eater
