COURSE DESCRIPTION

Drafting is a course for students concentrating on the communications area of technology. Students will learn to use various CAD programs while making detailed plans. A majority of the class will concentrate on technical drawing. Students will learn to make plans and 3D renderings of parts as would be used in the manufacturing industry. The first portion of the class will utilize the AutoCAD program, while the second portion will utilize Inventor.

 

COUSRE OBJECTIVES

At the end of this course, students should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the ability to use the various commands used in the CAD programs.
  2. Identify the technical symbols used in plans.
  3. Create three-view drawings.
  4. Create 3-D drawings.
  5. Accurately place dimensions on a drawing.
  6. Place notes and details on a drawing.
  7. Use multiple layers to accurately represent an object.
  8. Create 3D assembly drawings.
  9. Create an animated assembly

 

COURSE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Successful and timely completion of all tests, quizzes, assigned drawings and other assignments.
  2. Choose challenging projects for those that you are allowed to decide.
  3. Stay on task and use computers for drafting class only.
  4. Display a positive attitude.
  5. Be courteous and helpful when helping another student.
  6. Have fun!!
