Course Description:
An elective course into the basic areas of leadership. Students will learn aspects of the inner self, public self, and continual renewal. Students will develop skills and learn experience in a variety of concepts related to leadership in youth as well as life long development. An emphasis on servant leadership will stream throughout the course.
Objectives:
1. Students will be able to describe the elements which contribute toward personal effectiveness in interpersonal situations, including locus of control, esteem, and relationships
2. Students will identify and demonstrate the interpersonal choices associated with building effective relationships.
3. Students will be able to synthesize knowledge about personal interpersonal skills and relationship building in order to develop interpersonal leadership skills.
4. Students will develop the skills necessary to take a leadership role in society.

Units of Study:
1. Inner self. The individuals must have an understanding of themselves before becoming a leader. The necessary components of the inner self will be explored.
2. Public self. The public self serves others and is paramount to servant leadership. The class will explore the areas of public life and service.
3. Continual renewal. No individual is ever done growing, learning, and improving. The steps necessary for this renewal will be explored.
Grading:
Grades will be determined through quizzes, tests, student participation, work habits, class assignments, presentations, and other projects. Total points will be used to determine final grade. The following scale will weight the grades of students:
